Vacation Days

Summit offers full-day care during most of Shenendehowa’s school vacation days. Please consult the 2025/2026 school calendar and register your child for care needed by the enrollment deadline. There is an additional cost for full-day care.

Snow Policy

Severe weather is to be expected during the winter months. When the weather is severe enough to cause public/private school closings, delays, and early dismissals, this will not necessarily result in our program being cancelled.

One-Hour Delay:

On days where there is a 1-hour delay at Shenendehowa, our before school program will delay opening 1 hour (i.e. instead of our usual 6:30 AM opening, we will open at 7:30 AM).

Two-Hour Delay:

On days where there is a 2-hour delay at Shenendehowa, our before school program will delay opening 2 hours (i.e. instead of our usual 6:30 AM opening, we will open at 8:30 AM).

AM kindergartners may be dropped off starting at 8:30 AM.

School Closings

On days where Shenendehowa closes, Summit will open at 9:00 AM. You must call Summit no later than 8:00 AM and leave a message if your child will be attending our all-day program. In your message, please be sure to state the full name of your child. If you call later than 8:00 AM, we cannot guarantee a spot will be available. Summit Site Supervisor David Boyle can be reached on the main office line @  518-557-2690 (if you leave a voicemail it will be forwarded via email to David & Tracey in real time if you leave a message) for any closing issues.

To verify if Summit will be closed for the day, please check the scrolling messages on local news stations for notification.
